Tamina Elias-Rizk, MD MSc
Dr. Tamina Elias-Rizk is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Diagnostic Radiology and the Clerkship Director of Medical Imaging at the Lebanese American University (LAU). She also serves as Chief of the Section of Breast Imaging at the LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital. A graduate of Saint Joseph University, Dr. Rizk completed her residency in radiology at Hôtel-Dieu de France and pursued advanced fellowships in diagnostic and interventional breast imaging and oncologic MRI at several leading Parisian institutions, including Paris Descartes, Paris-Est Créteil, and CHU Henri Mondor. Since joining LAU in 2011, she has played a pivotal role in advancing breast imaging diagnostics and education. Her research focuses on breast cancer screening practices and imaging biomarkers, with published work exploring the H19 long noncoding RNA as a potential diagnostic biomarker and analyzing barriers to screening in Lebanon during times of crisis. Dr. Rizk’s leadership and clinical expertise continue to shape breast cancer care, early detection, and awareness efforts across Lebanon and the region

Hady Ghanem, MD
Lebanese American University
Dr. Hady Ghanem, MD is an Associate Professor of Hematology and Oncology at the Lebanese American University (LAU) and serves as Chairman of the Division of Hematology–Oncology at LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital, where he also directs the Hematology–Oncology Fellowship Program. Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology, and oncology, Dr. Ghanem completed his fellowship in leukemia and has built a distinguished career in cancer care, education, and research. His clinical and academic work focuses on advancing cancer treatment protocols and improving patient outcomes in Lebanon and the region. Through his leadership, Dr. Ghanem continues to mentor future oncologists and contribute to research efforts addressing key challenges in oncology, including breast and hematologic malignancies.


Justin Michael Broyles, MD
Brigham and Women's Hospital
Harvard Medical School
Dr. Broyles is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He has several academic and administrative positions, including Co-Director of Oncoplastic Surgery at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Co-Director of Clinical Operations for the Division of Plastic Surgery, and Site Director for the Harvard Plastic Surgery Residency. In addition to this, his leadership has also extended to national organizations, including leadership positions within the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the FDA’s Medical Device Approval Committee. He is also an entrepreneur and inventor, having founded and advised multiple healthcare startups and contributed to the development of novel surgical devices currently undergoing clinical evaluation. A native of Texas, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas, residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Master of Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. He is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and focuses his clinical and research practices on data-driven, value-based surgical care.

Michele A. Manahan, MD
Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Michele A. Manahan is a Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she specializes in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. A graduate of Johns Hopkins, Dr. Manahan completed her residencies in general and plastic surgery through the Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland programs. Her clinical and research focus centers on advancing breast reconstruction techniques, optimizing surgical outcomes, and enhancing patients’ quality of life after cancer treatment. Through her leadership and academic work, Dr. Manahan continues to shape innovations in reconstructive surgery and mentor future leaders in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Aniella Abi-Gerges, PhD
Lebanese American University
Dr. Aniella Abi-Gerges is an Associate Professor of Physiology and Discipline Coordinator at the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, Lebanese American University (LAU), where she also serves as Academic Director of Medical Year II. A dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Abi-Gerges focuses on advancing medical education and exploring the molecular and physiological mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases. Her recent work has examined alterations in cardiac phosphodiesterases in diabetic cardiomyopathy, contributing to a deeper understanding of diabetes-related heart complications. Through her leadership and scholarship, she continues to shape the next generation of physicians and promote excellence in biomedical research and teaching at LAU.​


Eman Sbaity, MD, FEBS, MSc
American University of Beirut
Dr. Eman Sbaity is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the American University of Beirut (AUB), specializing in breast surgical oncology. She earned her medical degree from Beirut Arab University, completed her general surgery residency at AUB Medical Center, and pursued advanced fellowships in breast and surgical oncology at Johns Hopkins University and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Sbaity also serves as Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program and Director of the Surgery Research Unit at AUB. Her research focuses on breast cancer management, surgical decision-making, and improving patient outcomes in the Middle East. Through her leadership, clinical expertise, and international collaborations, Dr. Sbaity continues to advance breast cancer care, research, and education in Lebanon and the region.
